Your Letter Summary
Sori is a special young girl – kind, caring and principled well beyond her years.
Unfortunately, these are NOT the personality traits generally being celebrated in middle school – especially Sori’s. She’s being bullied mercilessly for defending the defenceless until she herself becomes a target.
To escape, she transfers to a new school where the same old problems begin to play out all over again. That is until a mysterious trail of letters starts leading Sori on a magical scavenger hunt across the school.
The mail trail is the work an anonymous guardian angel, whose mission seems to be to provide a soft landing for Sori at her new school.
But who is this person? And why did he choose her?
With each letter, secrets are being revealed and bonds are forming – as Sori learns about friendship, flora, fauna and finding the good in people in this strange new environment.Webtoons
Your Letter is a special type of webtoon which will hit home for a lot of us.
Sori endures bullying and switches schools, only to discover some letters in her desk. These letters contain information and instructions how to find the next letter. It’s a mystery worth solving for her and she’ll end up finding others to help her along, too.
I absolutely love the mystery of finding the next letter and realizing how much effort this person put into making it possible. As we discover more and more, we end up finding our hearts hurting and we can’t help but think about the “what ifs”.
When the finale comes, we’re not exactly prepared and it takes a bit to let it sink in. The hints are there, but we gloss over them without thinking too much about it.
The friendship which forms thanks to the treasure hunt are marvellous as well, allowing Sori to blossom in her new environment. Thanks to the letters, Sori is able to find new friends who seem genuinely surprised she knows their names. It’s a beautiful moment of becoming accepted by others, when you were previously shunned.
Likewise, the person Sori defends before transferring school learn an important lesson as well. She stands up for others and learn just how much courage it took from Sori to do so. It’s honestly a beautiful moment and I wish more people would be able to have the courage to stand up to others.
As the hunting for the letters continue, a choice has to be made. A choice which can end the search permanently, but Sori can’t with a good conscious accept a blackmailing deal.
The absolutely best part of the story is the fact it’s completely free. You can read it on webtoons and it will not cost you anything.
Recommendation: Short, sweet and mysterious story about youngsters searching for letters. A good message and satisfying conclusion. Well worth reading.
