Vicarious Lover [1st Impression]

Vicarious Lover features a fake relationship, meaning to get back at an ex-fiancé. In terms of ex-fiancés, the one in this one takes the cake.

Vicarious Lover Summary

“There is someone whom I love dearly. I will date with her for three months. So you, too.. should date another man for three months.”

To get revenge on her fiancé.. No, to get his love back to her, Hwang Hae Geum plans to look for a substitute boyfriend. That person is Kang Si Hoon, her brother’s friend who’s five years younger than her.

He’s the definition of the perfect man with perfect attitude that makes her heart flustered. It feels like he blows a fresh spring air to her heart. Will she fell in love with Si Hoon eventually?

Vicarious Lover [1st Impression]
Vicarious Lover’s features something quite basic in terms of plot, but it’s not necessarily bad.

Our female lead is engaged and is set to marry within a few months.

Her fiancé is a major tool and drops the cheating bomb on her, going further than most. He confesses to wanting to continue the relationship, but he’ll cheat on her until their wedding. Once they wed, they’ll forget everything which occurs in the present time.

Needless to say, that’s some all-time high messed up fiancé b*llsh*t right there. Thankfully, her friend comes up with a plan to make him jealous or at the very least get back at him.

All she needs to do is date someone who is so much better than her ex. Lo and behold, our female lead has already met him! It’s her brother’s friend, who accidentally has seen her nude twice.

Yes, that’s actually something they did emphasise on in the story. I suppose it’s to make it more understandable that they see each other as male and woman, not childhood friend’s sister and young kid.

I’m not loving the fact she’s in the relationship to get back her fiancé. It honestly feels like she should have burnt that bridge and moved on.

Final thoughts: Overall I’m still curious about the story, especially since I like the chemistry between the male and female lead.
