Vampire Of The East is a really interesting, with a vampire story set in an ancient Korea. The art is pretty darn good, too, but the story has a comic book artstyle.

Vampire Of The East Summary

Vampire Of The East is definitely an interesting story, both with gender bender and vampires.
Our female lead has a tragic past, making her quite aware of how she’s both lucky and unlucky. This makes it feel quite real, which is not something I often find in these stories.
She loves books and studying, but due to her gender she’s not allowed to study in any academic places.
However, despite the unlucky nature of her gender she’s still lucky. Had she been born a boy, she would have been killed like her brothers. So it’s quite good she’s a girl, despite the lack of general equality in the country.
As for the male lead, it seems he doesn’t love drinking blood.
He avoids drinking blood from humans, almost to the point of starving himself. He has some blood sources, but it’s not like he goes hunting every day.
We also have some hunters, which are allegedly hunting “tigers” but we all know it’s not tigers they’re hunting, but vampires.
The manhwa is quite older, which is being reflected with the comic book style. If you’re used to flowing panels, all connecting, you’re going to be disappointed.
Instead we have a style more akin to traditional western comic books. I still enjoy the quality of the manhwa and I definitely don’t find the art bad.
Final thoughts: Definitely give it a go and see if you like it!
