The Maid And The Vampire Summary
Areum falls into a strange world called ‘Soltera’ after a car accident. She is mistaken for a vampire because of her hair color, and then sold to a duke’s estate by a slave trader.
Turns out the master of this house is Duke Millard Travis, the one and only vampire in the world! Desperate to survive in any way, Areum vows to serve him as her master.
As she tries to belly up on Millard day by day, his attitude begins to change.TappyToon
The Maid And The Vampire is honestly not that great of a story but it still works. I believe it has to do with Aerum being such a likeable character, ready to do whatever she can to survive.
She has no motivations besides just surviving in this strange world she’s fallen into. The duke isn’t exactly likable, since he makes her do chores of trivial nature. Yet, when she slowly nestles herself into his heart, he’s stuck. He’s quite evil towards others, though.
I honestly do quite like this story, but it’s not perfect. The vampire-aspect, which should be a huge thing, is more like an extra feature. It’s not really mentioned too much, nor is it explored (at least towards the first half of the manhwa).
Yet, I quite like the duke and Areum’s interactions and his adorable reactions. As a romance-comedy, this is a pretty solid story with cutesy moments.
I must say the decree part is quite interesting, yet he doesn’t really do anything to really push Areum away. I’d imagine if you know what will happen to your partner, you’d push everyone away.
Yet the vampire seems to be even more into Areum, to the point of disregarding her own health in a way. If she’s going to die because of him, maybe don’t get so close to her?
Recommendation: Definitely worth to check this one out and see if you like it.
