The Way To Protect The Female Lead’s Older Brother is yet another isekai story, at least this one is good. Our main character Roxana Agriche is acting out her role as a villainess, despite not being a genuinely bad person.
Although she has a reason and motive behind her actions, she’s not necessarily cruel or insane (like some other members of the family).
Instead she has to play her father and siblings, making them believe she’s as evil as them. She’s not exactly a cosy person from the start. She rejects her mother, probably due to feelings of guilt and regret over her brother’s death.
It’s also an evil tactic to keep her mother away from harm’s way. If she doesn’t care about her mother, less reason for other members of the family to target her to make her suffer.
The artstyle of the manhwa is really good and Roxana is also really beautiful.
She fits the role of a perfect villainess almost scaringly good. Even the appearance of her delicate mother is great.
As well as her siblings (Charlotte for instance). Their psychopathy tendencies makes me scared and they’re not even real people. I suppose that means it’s a good characterization.
The main male lead, Cassis Pedalian, also seems to react natural to Roxana’s behaviour. It doesn’t seem like trust occurs immediately, instead, he takes time to start trusting Roxana.
Even though her kindness is technically a manipulation tactic, I believe Roxana genuinely likes Cassis. He seems to also like Roxana, based on one chapter and the blushes. He’s definitely a male and not immune to Roxana’s charms.
If you want a true villain story, this is about as good as it’ll get.
Recommendation: YES. Unless you hate blood, mentions and some art depicting characters hurting others.
