Melvina’s Therapy Summary

Anxiety, loneliness, depression… with a regular therapy you can deal with these issues, but Melvina’s Therapy is about something deeper: creepy secrets remaining in the darkest space of your mind, waiting for you…

Melvina's Therapy [Recommendation]
I was avoiding reading this story for ages, because I’m an idiot who judges webtoons based on their thumbnails.

True, the art is black and white, but it doesn’t draw away or change the fact the stories are great.

The art is honestly also really, really good and it adds to the suspense having it in black and white. There’s also multiple references hidden inside the stories, which makes it extra interesting to read the final chapter.

Melvina’s Therapy is a collection of shorter stories making up a whole, longer story. The author is presenting us with new stories every few chapters, focusing on another patient and their plights. As we’re reading, we come to understand Melvina may not be out to heal these people but instead pray on their weaknesses.

Melvina's Therapy [Recommendation]
It is chilling tales, focusing on everything from the supernatural horrors to identifying shortcomings in our lives.

Sure what end up killing you may be supernatural, but if you didn’t poke the hornet’s nest, you would have survived.

Some stories are straight up chilling, throwing you for a loop. You see how someone goes through the motions, repeating everything again and again. He can’t understand he’s the only one who has the power to stop it.

The most bone-chilling one is that of Melvina of herself.

We see a girl abused by her peers, start taking control of her environment. The experiences change her forever and although we don’t support her methods, they had it coming.

So if you’re looking for horror stories, this is a sure bet for you. Most stories are psychological in nature, but there’s also some real threats hiding behind every corner.

This webtoon reminds me quite a bit about the game “The Cat Lady”. There’s something special with content designed in black and white, alternatively in dull colors. It just makes everything so eerie.

Although Melvina’s Therapy features more psychological horror, it still shows some very disturbing scenes and symbolism. It’s not something you can simply gloss over in a recommendation. Everything seems to have symbolic value and it’s always interesting to see what symbolism the artist will use in the chapters.

Recommendation: Melvina’s Therapy may not be for everyone, but you’re not going to escape once she has her claws in you. Go read this one right now!
