Stories After Dark: Malaysia Summary
Welcome, reader, to your worst nightmare!
Are you prepared to experience some of Asia’s most blood-curdling tales, collected for your personal fright? Not for the faint of heart or yellow of liver. You have been warned!Webtoons
Stories After Dark: Malaysia 1 is written by Kash and features a good variety of shorter stories.
There’s many folklore/ urban legends dealt in these stories. Some are not necessarily unique to Malaysia, but I suppose it doesn’t really matter.
It’s an anthology series, but I personally liked the 2nd story and chapter 7. They’re not all the same, and some are really interesting and different. Chapter 2 is also quite good in my opinion, but it reminds me a lot about Japanese horror.
The art isn’t my favorite but it’s not necessarily bad either. It does the thing it’s supposed to do and that’s all I can really ask for.
Stories After Dark: Malaysia 2 is written and illustrated by Choon Liang.
In the stories here we see about the same variety, with a lot focusing on hotels for some reason.
I do like this anthology series from Malaysia more than from previous countries.
We have various hotel stories, with one focus being on a casino hotel where there’s children haunting the guests.
There’s a nice twist to the story, too.
Final thoughts: If you like the supernatural, ghosts and dark arts you’ve come to the right anthology series!
This is part of Otomenai’s horror month. We’re sharing some interesting horror comics during the month of October.
