Looking for a Fisherman seemed very interesting from the start, but at the end of the first chapter I was very confused with the plot.

Life is much harder than we think. Not knowing where your future is headed is like falling into an abyss.
Our female lead, Lin Ru Fan, is nearing graduation.
Just when frustration, guilt, and helplessness begin to consume her, a small miracle grants her the courage to face life head-on.
Looking For A Fisherman starts out with the main character being in a bad spot. Due to poor life choices, she has ended up being without a job despite graduation closing in. Not to mention, her boyfriend also cheated on her.
Her mother is also nagging at her for making these poor choices, without offering any support to her daughter. After another failed interview, Lin Ru Fan is close to falling onto train tracks.
The last minute she’s saved by what I assume is the male lead, pulling her back to the safe spot. What I found unnerving was the people around them. They talked about it like it’s something common, like it’s part of life.
Overall I kind of like this story, but I’m not a huge fan of the art. At least it’s above decent, but it’s not my cup of tea. There’s many stories focusing on the weight of society, such as See You On Wednesday.
It’s important to bring up these topics, but at the same time, comics are sometimes a way out from every day life. I hope this manhua can keep a nice balance between being real but also allowing an escape for its readers.
Recommendation: Pretty decent, read it if given the chance.
