What secrets of the Instagram celebrity will Gabi uncover?Manta.net
Insta Girl features a girl by the name of Gabi, who works as a nail technician in Gangnam.
One day an influencer walks into the salon and Gabi does her nails. It’s the first look at our influencer who spawns all of this drama and she makes a great impression on Gabi.
The influencer forgets her golden bangles and Gabi keeps them, not without trying to give them back. Initially she’s supposed to give them back but ends up keeping them. After commenting on the influencer’s Instagram, her influencer friends come visit for an appointment.
One of them is really rude and the owner of the shop lies, saying Gabi is the owner just to make the influencer shut up. The lies just start going out of control and eventually she starts hanging out with these influencers.
She ends up wasting money on expensive designer bags, ignoring the fact she needs to pay for water bills and so on.
Eventually she chooses the influencers over her ordinary life and that is including her then-boyfriend. She goes partying, lying left and right and is just living her life to the fullest.
Needless to say, we’re expecting things to go awry and they do. Sooner or later, things start crashing down around Gabi and she realizes that ordinary life may not be too bad.
The real owner of the nail salon seems to worry about Gabi and I love how she’s not judging her. She simply wants Gabi to return to work and not waste her life on other stuff.
Be aware, there’s animal abuse in this story. Not anything graphic, but there’s some throwing of a dog up in the air. Needless to say, the story is featuring a lot mental illness and it also features a snippet of suicide and s*x trafficking.
Obviously the story isn’t too bad or graphic, but I think it does feature scenarios which are real for many. Including both trash talking, suffering due to media influences and so on. I mean, who doesn’t want rich and fame?
The question is if it’s worth selling out who you are in order to reach the goal.
Final thoughts: The story is quite enjoyable and short, which makes it a good series to binge. It definitely has some good life lessons about life, love and what you should be valuing.
