Real-Life Horror Stories
Real-Life Horror Stories features multiple stories which has gained notoriety via folklore.

It’s an anthology series, with a whole bunch of chapters. I think we’re up to over 200 chapters and it’s still going!

I’m not madly in love with the art, but it’s not bad. It’s just not my preferred art style, but it serves its purpose.

As for the stories, it features a multitude of different ones, ranging from ghost-like stories to just humans being cruel.

From what I can tell, nothing is to graphic but there’s definitely hints at death and maiming.

Some of the stories are quite peculiar in nature, not necessarily horrifying.

We have one story where a person dreams about a treasure and find a pond with fishes below a shed. Thus becoming rich and living a good life.

Others are just that, horrifying and meant to scare you. Or at least make sure you don’t make the same mistakes as those people! Such as a man who becomes possessed by a cat spirit due to his actions towards a feline.

All of them have in common they’re told in the manner of a storyteller retelling events, with the author chiming in towards the end of the stories with his thoughts.

Final thoughts: If you like folklore based in China, you may really enjoy this series!

This is part of Otomenai’s horror month, where we share some interesting horror comics during the month of October.
