Horror Express is an unnerving anthology comic currently licensed on Pocket Comics. It’s so creepy due to the art being so lifelike!

The shaman
Initially I was avoiding this story because I didn’t like the art. It was looking like it was made by live-action in the small thumbnails. I decided to give it a shot anyway and oh dear. It was so creepy!

The first story is basically a company making meat tailored for specific people’s tastes. Our male lead is going to investigate this company to find something to give his own company an edge. He and his family are customers of this meat company and sent in their saliva samples.

As you can imagine, what awaits the man isn’t something nice. The male lead is late from work, but the family gets a special delivery of meat… Maybe you can guess what happened to the man.

Another story features a story about a therapist, an unstable man who is unable to sleep, and a shaman. The man claims he’s being torn apart when he’s sleeping…. Literally.

What seems to be a common theme for these stories is they’re never quite what we expect. Some stories are more straightforward, others make us question what’s true or not.

If you like these stories, you’ll be pleased to know it’s a total of 60+ chapters to enjoy. The addition of the realistic art adds a different layer, making us even more unnerved. It’s harder to separate it’s just a story when the characters look so realistic.

Overall I’m quite liking what I’m seeing so far. The stories are grim, dark and not suitable for children.

Recommendation: Highly suggest you check out “Horror Express” if you like horror stories.
