GremoryLand is a solid piece of work, with twists and turns leaving you waiting on what’s going to happen!
The story starts out with the group thinking it’s just fun and games, but things soon take a turn for the worse.
We have a nice variety of people, but some are clearly cut from a stereotypical cloth. However, I’m not sure if it’s because they’re suppose to have a nice character development or if the author is having limits in their ability to portray characters.
I will assume it’s the first, simply due to the benefit of the doubt. I doubt the author would make such an obvious mistake or one-dimensional characters.
Although the story definitely features some horror-themes, there’s also some underlying issues which leads everyone to the park. All of their stories are somehow being intertwined, for better or worse.
I read some comments, which seems to think one of the group members are behind it. Which I can kind of see, but I’m not sure it’s that simple.
The comic is in full-color and I really like how the panelling is done. It’s clear the artist put a lot of effort into this story and the art.
If you recognize the artist’s name, it’s because they also did Melvina’s Therapy. That story is also a really good one, in case you’re wanting yet another horror-theme comic to read.
Final thoughts: If you like horror and thriller stories, you should definitely check out this one. I don’t think it’s anything supernatural occurring, but maybe it is and I just don’t know yet.
This is part of Otomenai’s horror month, where we share some interesting horror comics during the month of October.
