Finding Camellia Summary

Her life was nothing but lies.

Camellia was just 12 when she was taken away from her mother in the slums and forced to live as the son of an aristocratic family.

But under the layers of secrets and lies, she never forgets. She continues to struggle to be her true self again, to reclaim the life of Camellia.
Finding Camellia
Finding Camellia starts out decently enough, but I think I already know the plot from chapter 2.

Despite not reading the summary, I can tell the son of a rich family will die and Camellia will takes his place. I hope it’s incorrect, since I quite like the son.

I’m not sure if I hate the fact it’s that obvious or not, but it’s at least a difference towards typical isekai stories.

Even the prologue is sad, with the mother becoming a prostitute to keep her child safe. However, due to the child’s beautiful appearance she’s being taken away by a rich woman.

It seems the female lead’s father cheated on the original wife. Which prompts the original wife to basically kidnap the child and keep her in the mansion.

At least she’s a proper aristocrat and won’t be treated poorly because of that. I hope. Surprisingly enough, even the father is alive and well.

I quite like the multiple different takes and viewpoints in this story. It’s clear the father has been cheating, yet it’s also clear the wife hasn’t fully forgiven him. It’s interesting to see such a take on the cheating and how it affects the life around others.

What I also enjoy is that many are really questioning if the female lead is actually a boy. I suppose it’s not that easy to hide the gender, which is a common trope in other stories.

Final thoughts: I’m quite liking the story so far, can’t wait to see how it’ll continue!
