Broken Melody Summary
Minhee used to be a world-famous piano prodigy until one mistake sent her life spiralling. Her confidence shaken, her family broken and her life in ruins, all she can do is hope for a chance to make things better.
That’s when she meets Eun Hyun, the neighbourhood piano teacher whose life has been filled with tragedies of his own.
The world breaks everyone, it’s up to us to pick up the pieces and glue ourselves back together.MU
I haven’t read many chapters yet, but from what I read it seems to be an interesting story about healing together.
Our protagonist, Yeon Minhee, used to be a famous pianist until she quits due to health complications. Her family decides to move away from the city, where Minhee starts enjoying life once again.
The next tragedy striking is her father cheating and running away with her class teacher. This fuels hate from her classmates, who blames her for them losing their teacher.
Minhee’s mother is never quite the same afterwards, either. She soon starts hating everything to do with music and forbids Minhee to play any instrument. With the young child’s friend, she’s able to play on a piano sitting in the garden of Eun Hyun’s house.
He recognizes the melody she’s playing and he wants to find out where she’s learned to play it but she’s running away before he gets the chance. The next day she comes back and he’s able to talk face to face with this young pianist prodigy.
I think we can all tell this story is going to be a sad one, purely based on how Minhee is being treated. I hope the two can manage to heal together, although I’m sure it’s going to be tough.
I’m not sure how this story will go, but I think our protagonist will be growing up. It may end up with a romance between her and the piano teacher, but I haven’t read that far.
The story is completed, so if you want to read it you can do that cheaply via Manta.
Recommendation: If you like romance, piano music, drama and tragedy you may like this one!
