Beatrice is a manhwa series which features very well little well-written plot. Still, if you turn off your brain and read it, you might enjoy the story.

Having previously been a slave in her youth, Chloe is revealed to be an illegitimate child of the King of Elpasa.
She’s being raised to the level of a Princess and renamed Beatrice, all in order to secure a political marriage to a toady man, as the king was unwilling to marry his legitimate daughters to him.
After two years of hellish marriage, the Kingdom of Elpasa falls before the blade of the Empire’s Archduke, its greatest hero. In order to survive her new enslavement Princess Beatrice re-assumes the guise of ‘Chloe’ as a slave of the Empire. But then, she catches the eye of that very same hero…
The Archduke wonders who is this squirrelly short-haired young woman, who is so surprisingly educated for a slave, and who is terrified of him, not knowing that he butchered the Elpasa Royal Family in front of her and enslaved her himself.
What will become of them, since she proves to be one of his only sources of levity?MU
I’ve been reading Beatrice on and off for the last couple of years, so my memory may be a fried regarding the plot.
The story isn’t too amazing or unique, and the isekai-part is pointless. It really doesn’t add a lot to the story as it seems right now.
However, I still do enjoy the story although it’s not amazing. The plot is in theory good, but the execution in the manhwa series is lacking.
Our female lead is more of a doormat in the manhwa series and not really unique. She’s a Mary Sue, although a slightly better Mary Sue than in some other stories.
As for the male lead, he’s dominating and not being truthful to the female lead. However, I think all fans of the series do like the relationship and are cheering them on.
However, the relationship isn’t good since it’s not even in power. She’s a slave and he has power of her, so no matter what happens she can’t really deny him properly. Whether or not because he’s cruel or because he’s the master, it really doesn’t matter. She’s in a bad spot, regardless.
A major concern for the plot is really the lack of character growth and just personality. Our female lead gets over things too soon, at least according to some.
Final thoughts: Overall the story isn’t amazing nor great, but I do enjoy reading it anyway. I can’t say it’s good like “Your Throne” but it’s still worth checking out.
